I absolutely recommend this unit for someone just starting out. For one, it has a very intuitive software interface. The veterinary presets are very spot on right out of the box. I would say over 85% of the time I just “point and shoot” without making adjustments to the image. I rarely have to adjust the gain or compensation, sometimes just the depth. And it’s a touch screen, so you don’t have to play with a bunch of knobs. Also, you don’t really have to set up your DICOM. Everything is saved on the cloud. You can also scan a QR code on the screen of your current study using your phone and share the images to anyone you like very easily. It’s also very ergonomic. It’s a tablet system so very light and easy to carry. It is an extremely efficient and capable machine that is very easy to use, hands-down. I know of a board certified internist who does mobile ultrasound and has a GE logiq next gen, which is a $40,000 machine and she rarely uses it since it’s very heavy and you have to play with the presets a lot to fine tune the image. She now uses the Wisonic piloter and the GE sits in her trunk as a back up. Like I said earlier, the software is super easy to use and at the same time it also allows the machine perform like a $40-100,000 machine for specialist-level work if needed in the future.
